About
your tour guide, Steve Pudenz
Born,
raised and educated in Iowa, Steve taught high school in Des Moines and
finished an M.F.A.before coming to New York to be an actor. Trained in
the classical repertory, Steve did Shakespeare and Strindberg until the
day his agent discovered he could sing. From then on it was, "Goodbye
Shakespeare, Hello Dolly."
A
veteran of Broadway, National Tours and regional theaters all over America,
Steve played Horace Vandergelder in HELLO DOLLY! with Carol Channing,
Max in THE SOUND OF MUSIC with Richard Chamberlain, and King Pellinore
in CAMELOT with Robert Goulet.
He was in THE FANTASTICKS with Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt on their second
tour of Japan, and in their latest show, MIRETTE on one of his numerous
trips to the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT.
Among Steve's favorite
roles, Jacob, the Father of Israel in The National Tour of JOSEPH AND
THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, Dr. Prospero in the Off-Broadway rock
n' roll spectacular, RETURN TO THE FORBIDDEN PLANET and and Sir Danvers
Carew in JEKYLL & HYDE directed by Robert Cuccioli were standouts.
Regional
credits include appearances at The Indiana Repertory Theater, Baltimore
Center Stage, The George Street Playhouse, The Pittsburgh Public Theater,
The Coconut Grove Playhouse, and The Caldewell Theater Company, among
many others.
Steve also teaches
English as a Second Language, Conversational English and Accent Reduction
privately and through two schools in Manhattan, and is also a licensed
professional tour guide in the city (GuidedbySteve.com
